STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect and dignity.  Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed towards any individual are to be rejected and are not in accord with Scripture nor the mission of Green Oaks. We also believe God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

•    Scripture.  We believe that every word in the original writings of the Bible is inspired by God and is without error.  It is accurate in all matters to which it speaks . . . Spiritual, historical and scientific.  (II Tim. 3:16, II Pet. 1:21).

•    God.  We believe God exists eternally in three persons:  the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  The three are mysteriously distinct in person but the same in essence.  They are one God.  (Gen. 1:1, John 10:30; 4:24; Deut. 6:4; Mat. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14).

•    Jesus Christ.  We believe the eternal Son of God became incarnate in the Lord Jesus Christ, being born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.  He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died physically on the cross and was raised from the dead bodily three days later (John 1:1,14,18, 5:18, 2:11; Heb. 1:1-9, 4:15, 5:8, 7:26; I John 5:20; I Tim. 2:5; I Cor. 15:1-5).

•    Holy Spirit.  We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity.  He regenerates, indwells, baptizes, and seals all believers in Christ and empowers those yielded to God (Mat. 28:19; John 3:3-7; Tit. 3:5; I Cor. 6:19; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 2:12; 12:13; Eph. 4:30).

•    The Fall of Man.  We believe man is created in the image and likeness of God.  In Adam, all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men and women are now born sinners by nature.  Men are justly condemned to eternal judgment and can do absolutely nothing to earn favor or make peace with God. (Gen. 1:26; Jeremiah 17:9; Rom. 3:10-18, 5:12; Rom. 3:23; Gal. 3:10; Rom. 6:23)

•    Salvation.  We believe salvation is given to those who are chosen of God and drawn to Christ by the Holy Spirit.  The only means to salvation is personal trust (faith, belief) in Christ’s substitutionary death and resurrection.  (Acts 4:12, 13:38-39; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom 4:4,5; 5:1; John 3:16; Eph 2:8-9; Acts 16:31; Eph 1:4,5; Rom 8:29,30)

•    We believe that God created all human beings in His image. Therefore, we believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; that we must honor the physical and spiritual needs of all people; following Christ’s example, we believe that every person should be treated with love, dignity, and respect. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10)

•    We believe God’s design for sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within the context of marriage and that God instituted marriage between one man and one woman as the foundation of the family. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9)

As an implementation of our vision and goals of Green Oaks Education and Support, Inc. we offer many ways for our students and participants to grow in their walk and faith in Jesus Christ. Each of our academic courses is designed to follow Christian and Biblical core values.

Other ways that we incorporate our vision and mission statement is by making sure that prayer and devotionals are incorporated into our daily routines. We have daily morning worship and gathering where the students get a chance to sing praises to God as well as join in a short devotional.  We also have our monthly chapel WOW (Worship on Wednesdays).

We also offer mission/disciple training where we teach the students how to apply the Scripture and go out and serve the community in various capacities. Some of the locations we have chosen to serve include Mission Arlington, and Hearts and Hands, as well as various food pantries and clothing closets. It is our conscious effort to teach our students to be well equipped with the Gospel to grow in discipleship and reach others for Christ. (Ephesians 4:12, Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 10:15).
